Each year, the ATA hosts a number of training camps for kids aged 12 to 19 throughout the Province with the goal of improving access to high quality coaching and training environments.
The camps are organized by the ATA free of charge for athletes who have been accepted into the Youth and Junior Development Program as a member of the Junior Team or Development Squad. ATA-affiliated youth clubs with athletes in the program host these camps in consultation with the ATA General Manager and the Provincial Development Coach to ensure that specific training goals are met. For example, in 2017 the focus of all ATA development camps will be to support athletes training to qualify for Team Alberta at Canada Summer Games.
Kids in the Identified Athlete group and kids who are in the club hosting each camp are invited to attend for a nominal fee.
